London Aquatics Centre for the 2012 Summer Olympics, UK
The Aquatics Centre was designed to accommodate 17,500 spectators for the London 2012 Games in ‘Olympic’ mode while also providing the optimum spectator capacity of 2,000 for use in ‘Legacy’ mode after the Games. It is within the Olympic Park Masterplan and situated on the southeastern edge of the Olympic Park with direct proximity to Stratford.

Fluid geometries of water in motion inspired the architectural concept of the London Aquatic Centre. It has an undulating roof that sweeps up from the ground as a wave, enclosing the pools in the Centre. It is one of the notable places used in the 2012 Olympics games.
