The Atomium, Brussels, Belgium
The Atomium is a 335-foot tall building constructed in 1958. It consists of nine intertwined stainless steel spherical structures that form a magnified iron. The metal tubes connected to the spheres have stairs and other elevators that allow visitors to access the exhibition halls.
André and Jean Polak designed the Atomium structure. Each sphere is about 11,000 square feet; many say at the highest sphere, one can visit the restaurant and enjoy the amazing views of Brussels. The architects combined the technical artistry of design and architectural policies to create this daring structure.
