Heydar Aliyev Centre, Azerbaijan
The Heydar Aliyev Centre, covering over 57,519m², is one of the complex buildings designed by our Iraqi-British architect, Zaha Hadid. She is famous for her fluidity and curved angles in architectural design, and the Heydar Aliyev Center reflects that.
The center is named after the leader of Azerbaijan during the Soviet era from 1969-1982 and the country’s president between October 1993 and October 2003. The Heydar Aliyev Centre is an internationally recognized architectural work and was nominated for the World Architecture Festival prize and the bi-annual Inside Festival in 2013.
