The building was established in 2011 and designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, and Event Communications designed its internal exhibitions and displays. It was built to replace the former home for the city’s transport collection. The building is located at the site of the former A. & J. Inglis Shipyard within Glasgow Harbour.
