Ordrupgaard Museum Extension, Denmark
The Ordrupgaard Museum was built in 1918 as a country house to collect, house, and exhibit remarkable paintings owned by Wilhelm Hansen, a French aristocrat. It is located near Jægersborg Dyrehave in Charlottenlund, 110 Vilvordevej Street, a suburban area north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The building is one of the oldest public buildings in Denmark and has been a public museum since 1953.

In 2005, an expansion was carried out to improve the building, and the new design was awarded to Zaha Hadid and co-architect Finn Juhl. Zaha Hadid designed the extension to be the redefined relationship of nature and how it compliments people. She incorporated a new and natural landscape for visitors to enjoy. Her proposal won the architectural design competition in 2001.
