Smart Home Tech: Expect These Advancements In 2024

November 6, 2024 by Shelley Thompson

Technology has changed our lives in many ways- and our homes aren’t an exception. From smart televisions to automated security systems, there is a plethora of tech devices that can help improve your home. Today, your house doesn’t have to be in the higher-end category for you to enjoy smart home tech. Well, in the coming year, different advancements are to be expected. Here are five of them.

Smart Thermostats

If you’re a tech geek, you might have heard that some companies have introduced smart thermostats. However, many haven’t heard of these thermostats because they aren’t so common yet. Well, that’s going to change.

As many of us plan to incorporate eco-friendly home appliances and gadgets in 2024, the sale of smart thermostats will skyrocket. The ability to control your home’s temperature from anywhere is the major advantage of these thermostats.

Home Tech Integration

In simple terms, home tech integration is the ability of home tech devices to communicate with one another. Of course, you’ve seen this advancement in movies where people connect several devices in their homes.

But it’s not yet something an average person enjoys in their home. In 2024, smart home tech integration will become more affordable and common. So your smart fridge can communicate with Amazon Alexa to add a fruit that has been exhausted to your shopping list.

Security

There are now different devices with sensors that help people monitor the activities in their houses more. However, most of these devices are focused on preventing crime and protecting people.

In 2024, more high-tech home security devices will be focused on helping people check on their homes, even when there is no threat of crime. For instance, you will be able to open the door for a delivery guy without getting to the door.

Health Tech

Since COVID-19, health tech has been upgraded– there are now different devices that help monitor and even enhance people’s health. Smart air purifiers and doorbells check temperatures and pass necessary signals to homeowners.

However, smart water filters and smart toilets will become more common in the coming year. Analyzing users’ waste and skin, these smart toilets will alert users about any potential issues, helping them curb more health issues.

Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence

Contrary to what some think, artificial intelligence isn’t here to replace humans– it helps us do so many activities better. With popular voice assistants like Alexa, you can play music, turn off lights, and do other things by just saying it.

In 2024, the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence will be incorporated in bathrooms, kitchens, and all over the house, not just in the living room. People will be able to use smart kitchen tech for journaling and other purposes.
