Lego sets are just super cool; not only are do they provide us with the utmost feeling of productivity and accomplishment once they’re complete but putting Lego sets together sparks a load of creativity up in the old dome and relaxes the heck out of us. So in our humble opinion, there are a lot of reasons to snag a cool set and spend hours putting it together. If you still think Legos are just for kids and don’t really know where to start when it comes to sets, leave that to us! We’ve put together a list of our favorite Lego sets you can go ahead and snatch up to keep you busy during the winter. Let’s get started!
Lego Botanical Collection Bird of Paradise
The Lego botanicals are a personal favorite of ours here and this Birds of Paradise is cool from the flower pot it sits in to the tip of the flora itself. If you’re diggin’ on these Lego botanicals as hard as we are, you’re in for a treat when you find out Lego has also created a bonsai tree, wild leek, and floral bouquet set; now if we could just get our hands on a Lego greenhouse. Lego James Bond Aston Martin DB5
Okay, fans of James Bond are losing their minds over this, and a huge selling point? The finished product has working gadgets such as a rotating license plate, a bulletproof screen that can be raised, and machine guns that pop out of the front. And a little something for the gearheads, a detailed six-cylinder engine. When complete, the car is roughly 24 centimeters long and we would hope it would be displayed proudly. Buy it here!
Lego World Map
This set is not for the faint of heart; with over 11,000 studs the finished product is a 3 feet by 2 feet microscale version of the maps we grew up seeing in our classrooms. This set is also designed for being displayed and comes with all of the necessary hardware to do so; and after all, once you complete this map you should absolutely be showing it off. Buy it here!
Lego Architecture Statue of Liberty
It’s a Lego version of the Statue of Liberty, what’s not to love? It’s blocky, it’s fun, it’s America, baby. The negative reviews are few and far between for this piece and once it’s completed she sits roughly 44 centimeters tall and makes for a fun little showpiece. But it here!
Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Great Hall
We’re not crying, you are! Okay, we’re not crying about it, but we are super psyched! You mean WE get to build the GREAT HALL? From HOGWARTS? If you’re as big of a fan as we are, you’ll appreciate how meticulous this set is which includes tables, house banners, food, and even the fireplace. This set also includes ten minifigures from the movie. If the Great Hall isn’t really your cup of tea, the Diagon Alley set also comes highly recommended. Buy the Great Hall set here!
