One more sock on the fireplace
It’s holiday time. The weather is cold and Santa Claus is coming, which means it is time to get a Christmas tree, decorations, and bright colored lights. It also means preparing and hosting a big meal to share this precious moment with the family, including making a huge announcement.
As a Christmas tradition, each family member should hang one of their stockings by the fireplace, representing the time when people hung socks and small clothes to dry in front of the fire. Santa Claus entered the houses through chimneys at Christmas, and therefore, if they put their socks there, Santa Claus would surely see them more quickly and fill them with treats. To announce the news, the father hung up a small, sweet sock and announced the due date.
