The deceiving praying mantis
The praying mantis has habits that have nothing to do with its name. This large carnivorous insect doesn’t spend its days praying, but eating all kinds of other insects. Its menu varies, but can include large insects like crickets or beetles.
Although in this picture the creature may look like a cute dancing insect enjoying nature, it’s probably reaching out its arms to threaten predators or scare its prey before eating them. But don’t worry, apparently it doesn’t eat human fingers.
