This British soldier survived several wars and even two plane accidents
There are times when reality becomes more incredible than fiction, and Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart’s life story certainly sounds like it belongs in a novel. The man is known for being an all-around badass. He fought in many wars and survived being shot in the face, head, stomach, ankle, leg, hip, and ear.
It might sound strange, but the man enjoyed going to war. His first military experience was fighting in the Boer Wars in South Africa. He then went on to fight in both World Wars and was awarded the Victoria Cross in 1916, Britain’s highest military decoration. Talk about courage.
