Abraham Lincoln gave such a good speech that everyone forgot to record it
Out of all United States presidents, Abraham Lincoln might be among the most popular. He was head of state during the American Civil War and is credited with preserving the Union and abolishing slavery. He was perhaps one of history’s greatest orators, and his impassioned speeches are still read today.
In fact, at the Bloomington Convention of 1856, he gave such an incredible speech that all the journalists forgot to take notes. It is believed that on that occasion, he spoke against slavery with such fervor that everyone was transfixed by his passion.
