Cats like to mark their territory
A cat rubs against people not only to be affectionate but also to mark out its territory with scent glands around its face. The tail area and paws also carry the cat’s scent, making it easy for the cat to mark every trace it takes.

Cats are big sleepy heads, paw-don me; it says it wants to catch some sleep, so I wouldn’t disturb you. The cat completes its camouflage as it doesn’t want to disturb the owner. Haven’t found it? Look for its paws on the blanket. Now you have seen it! It really marked its territory.
