No two cats have the same nose print
A cat’s nose has a unique pattern, like a human fingerprint. If you looked at your cat’s nose under a magnifying glass, you’d see a pattern of bumps and ridges. Those patterns are unique to every cat. No two cats have identical nose prints. Here, the rug appears to have an obvious bump.

Since you seem like an investigator, would you maybe, with its noseprint, find the cat? Or you could assume the role of a doctor and scan the bump on the rug under ultrasound, but do you need to go through all that? Looking carefully, you see the cat’s paws coming out slightly under the rug.
