We Lose 90% of Heat Through our Heads
Many people believe this, but it is untrue. This is because our head makes up only ten percent of our body’s surface area. This means that if the head lost even 75% of the body’s heat, it would have to lose 40 times more heat per square inch than the rest of its parts.
The actual reason we lose heat through the head is that every time we are outside, we are fully clothed. So, the head is exposed and is the only escape from the heat. However, we lose far less than 90% of heat through our heads.
