Something as normal as plant roots can look like alien tentacles
Everyone knows what plant roots look like. They are long spindly hairs that dig into the earth and suck up water and nutrients so that the plant can grow. But not all roots are made the same. This one, for example, belongs to a common houseplant species called Calathea.
Who knew the roots could look so alien-like? Even knowing they are harmless, you could never convince us to touch one of those fleshy appendages. If you find them creepy too, then make sure you take good care of your houseplants, because you never know what could be hiding underneath.
