This frog glowed up after a ‘light’ meal
This frog just had a ‘light meal,’ and it shows. This photograph was captured moments after the frog ate fireflies that continued glowing in its belly. They say you are what you eat; it might just be true for this little guy.
Some species of frogs have relatively thin or transparent skin; there is even a species of frog called the glass frog, whose skin is so transparent that its internal organs can be seen through it. The next time anyone sees a glowing frog and thinks it’s a prince from a fairy tale, make sure it is not because it has eaten a bunch of fireflies giving off the glow in its belly.
