Sea Lion Without Whiskers
On August 14th, 2009, in Falklands Islands, people sighted this sea lion (Otaria Flavescens). There were several further observations of this sea creature, and it was observed that it was in defense of a small harem with four females.
To the people’s best knowledge, this spotted hairless healthy sea lion is the first of its kind without vibrissae, or whiskers, on the muscle. Whiskers help sea lions navigate in and above water and act as receptors for feeling vibrations.
