A hermit crab with a baby doll head
It’s a wide-known fact that hermit crabs will use all sorts of items as their homes. They molt or shed their hard outer layer called the exoskeleton as they grow, which happens a few times during their lifetimes. So, they need to upgrade their housing to bigger shells or objects periodically.
Although changing shells is a normal part of nature, this picture is terrifying to look at. We can’t blame hermit crabs for using baby doll heads as their new homes, though. All they want is a comfortable place to live. They can’t possibly know how creepy they look to us.
