The Beer Can House
Houston resident and retired architect John Milkovisch began his project to create distinctive landscape features, now known as the Beer Can House. In 1968, he began by sculpting countless marbles, rocks, and metal bits into concrete and redwood.
For functional and decorative purposes, beer cans that had been flattened were used to cover the house over the following 18 years. Beer can garlands were also hung from the roof, making the home sing in the wind and reducing the family’s energy costs.
