Airplane House in Miziara
Miziara, Lebanon is no stranger to eccentric buildings, and one of these buildings can be found in North Governorate, in a village called Miziara. This Airplane House derives its uniqueness from its originality as it is not a make-shift house made from the remains of a plane- it is the complete opposite. The Airplane House was built in 1975 and has two floors, with 30 portholes on each side. Inside is a cockpit and landing wheels to finish off the building. The architect was so detailed that he made a sliding door similar to planes.
Built to resemble the Airbus A380 from the outside, the Airplane House tells the story of a young boy Michael Suleiman. Michael Suleiman was obsessed with airplanes and dreamt of owning a plane-like house one day. As he grew older, his will for this house grew, and he accomplished it finally.
