Tilted House in Vermont
The tilted house in Vermont is another wonder constructed by an architect. This 1,133-square-foot house on 8.41 acres was built for couple Judy and Paul Nelson in the summer of 1969. The house is disorienting from the outside, with the outrageous slant of its exterior walls appearing as if the entire structure was tipped onto one edge during building.
According to Devin Colman, Vermont’s state architectural historian, the unusual house was designed by Kenneth Carbajal, a professor at the University of Houston College of Architecture. Colman said he researched the house when it came on the market and tracked down one of the people who helped build it in 1969.
