Bohumil Lhota’s House Moves on Its Own
How beautiful would it be if you could rotate your house regularly to face the sun at all times or change your house directly to witness a stunning view? Sounds blissful, right? Well, Bohumil Lhota’s home can do just that. Bohumil Lhota, a 73-year-old builder, built this house in Velke Hamry, near the town of Jablonec nad Nisou, 100km northeast of Prague in the Czech Republic.
This architect had the idea to build a different type of house in 1981, bringing the fantasy to fruition in 2002. The house could move up and down and rotate on its sides, allowing him to adjust his view. This veteran has spent decades building this masterpiece that can rise like a periscope at the flick of a switch or manually push the house at the center of its axis.
