These Crazy Curved, Fairy Tale-Themed, and Glass Covered Homes and Buildings are a Must-See for Any Architecture Lover

August 15, 2025 by Shelley Thompson

Humans require adequate clothing and shelter to survive on earth. In earlier times, houses were just makeshift coverage to pass the night as there was little to no regard for the standard or eccentric beauty. As humanity progressed, we developed better housing structures from our numerous natural resources and eventually created the regular rectangular boxes that shielded us from sun and rain. Since our creativity knows no bounds, other forms of unconventional structures started to sprout. These structures often defy gravity or deviate from the regular boxes on land. We have discovered 45 crazy houses and buildings from all over the world. Before we take you on this extensive journey into the architectural world, we suggest you get comfy with a snack as you are about to see human dwellings that will blow your mind.

Crazy house by Dang Viet Nga

Formerly named Biệt thự Hằng Nga, before it was called the Crazy House, is an ongoing project of Đặng Việt Nga built on a land area of 4000m. Located at 03 Huỳnh Thúc Kháng, phường 4, Đà Lạt, Lâm Đồng in Vietnam, the Crazy House is no doubt one of the weird architectural structures that would question your sanity and basic architect knowledge.

The architect described the project as a fairy tale house, for Hằng Nga translates to the Chinese goddess of the Moon. The building’s overview design looks like a giant tree, incorporating sculptured design properties that look exactly like the natural images of animals, mushrooms, spider webs, and caves. It is a child’s most vivid imagination come to life.
