The Singapore Botanic Gardens
The Singapore Botanic Gardens is the only tropical garden honored as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also ranked as one of Asia’s top park attractions and was declared the inaugural Garden of the Year in 2012. The garden is 163 years old, located in the Orchard Road shopping district in Singapore, and was founded in 1859 by the Agri-horticultural Society.
During Singapore’s independence, the garden helped transform the island into a tropical Garden City. The garden is around 2.5 km wide. Its beauty should be appreciated by visitors when touring Singapore.
