Sofiyivsky Park
Sofiyivka is an iconic garden design landmark in Uman, Ukraine, that began development in the 19th century. The park has over 2,000 local and exotic trees and bushes like Weymouth Pine, tulip tree, Platanus, and ginkgo.
The director of Sofiyivsky Park has been a renowned scientist and a member-correspondent of the Academy of Sciences since the early 1980s. The park was founded in 1796 by Count Stanisław Szczęsny Potocki, a Polish noble who rebuilt Uman after a peasant and named it after his Greek wife, Sofia.
