Butchart Gardens
This garden receives millions of visitors annually and has also been awarded as one of the National Historic Sites of Canada. The history of the garden is not complete without the honorable mention of Robert Pim Butchart and his wife, Jennie Butchart.
Their contributions helped improve the visuals we see in the park. While his wife collected plants, Robert collected ornamental birds from around the world, had birdhouses for the gardens, and trained pigeons. The garden contains numerous animal sculptures like bears, horses, ostriches, zebras, and more. Most of the designs were hand-picked by Robin Clarke, The Gardens’ owner and great-granddaughter.
