Alexander Garden
Alexander Garden is one of the oldest public parks in the urban side of Moscow, Russia. The public park is an expanse of land consisting of three distinct gardens stretching throughout the Western Kremlin Wall. It is amid the Kremlin Wall and the Moscow Manege Building and covers over 860m.
The park’s history can be traced to the end of the Napoleonic Wars when the emperor, Emperor Alexander I, decided to divert the river underground and enclose it in a pipe three kilometers long. After the diversion, the garden was laid out in the empty space to restore Moscow to its former glory after the 1812 fire incident.
