Thanks To These Mind-Blowing Pictures, Now We Know What Harsh Winters Are Like

June 23, 2025 by Shelley Thompson

No matter where on Earth you live, winter is the coldest time of the year. It fills our days with grey shades, forces us to wear knitted sweaters and boots, and makes us all hide under our blankets. Of course, winter days and blizzards aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but no one can deny this season always surprises us when we look outside the window. Apart from covering doors with snow and immobilizing cars, it decorates windows, forests, and fences with fairy icicles and incredible patterns. As cold weather lovers, we’ve decided to compile the most jaw-dropping winter photos on the Internet. We recommend you get cozy by the fireplace before reading this post because it’ll make you feel the cold weather through your device’s screen.

Someone found a building covered in snow in Canada

Canada has one of the most severe winter climates in the world. For several months each year, most of the country is below freezing, so people need to be careful whenever they head outside. If you need proof of how cold the weather in Canada is, look at this picture.

Someone found a building covered in snow while skiing and shared it on the Internet. We didn’t know this was possible, but some Canadians commented on the post explaining that this phenomenon occurs when fog covers an area and the wind is under -20°F. It isn’t common, which makes this photo even more impressive.
