A millionaire named Cecil Chubb once bought Stonehenge
Nowadays, Stonehenge is one of England’s most important historical monuments. However, a century ago, it was up for sale. It was purchased by a millionaire named Cecil Chubb as a gift for his wife, who rejected it and helped seal its fate as a heritage trail.

Although many assert that Chubb bought Stonehenge on a whim, others believe that he was just trying to protect it from being purchased by a wealthy foreigner. Either way, we’re glad that everyone can now visit and admire such a mysterious structure.
