Caterpillars become literal goo before turning into butterflies
Who does not love butterflies? These insects are some of the most beautiful ones in the world. Moreover, their life cycle is one of the most mysterious processes of nature. They start as larvae or caterpillars, then they enter the chrysalis phase. After some time, the fully-formed butterflies emerge from the cocoon.
The metamorphosis of butterflies is a weird process on its own. However, it becomes even more strange once you know that these insects turn into literal goo at some point. Inside their cocoons, they do not simply sprout wings, their entire body turns into a liquid, soupy substance which then turns into the butterfly.
