Clocking out
We have already seen that, maybe, cell phones have existed since the 1920s. Now we can say that watches have existed from even before that. This picture shows a ring watch found by archeologists in excavation in a tomb in China. The tomb had been sealed as late as the 1600s.
At first, they thought it was a ring with a similar design to a watch, but they could read the words: Swiss-made on the back. Swiss watches began production in the 1800s. So what was it doing in China two hundred years before that? These are called out-of-place artifacts.
