The battle of LA
This is one of the first registered UFO sightings, even before they were called UFOs. Back in 1941, during World War 2, the United States expected a direct attack from the Japanese Air Force. In the middle of the night, the sky lit up with a group of lights standing in formation. No one knew what it could be, so the army used all their beacons on it to find out if they were planes.
But to the surprise of everyone, no one could see any Japanese bombers. The lights didn’t move like planes, and they all seemed like they belonged to the same aircraft. But if that were the case, it would have to be huge. Once the sun began to rise on the horizon, the lights disappeared.
