Post-Surgery Eye
Have you ever seen what an eye looks like after surgery? This isn’t a laser, non-invasive eye surgery. This is a full-thickness cornea transplant or keratoplasty, and you can see how textured the cornea is in the picture above.
This surgery is used to relieve pain in the eye, improve sight, and treat infections or damage to the cornea. One of the most common reasons why one might need a keratoplasty or cornea graft is for a condition that causes the cornea to change shape. This condition is known as keratoconus.
