Most People Have Never Seen These Unusual and Rare Sights In Person

May 25, 2010 by Shelley Thompson

The world is a strange phenomenon on its own. Its mysterious ways have been centered around century-old arguments about its shape; some say the earth is round, while others argue it is flat. Besides this conspiracy, there are several more things that I bet you didn’t know. Because these world spectacles are so unique and rare, it would take the best of luck to catch a glimpse of them. Some are considered oddities, while others are considered one of the many wonders on earth. You would be speechless if you ever came across an albino raccoon, one of these uncommon oddities. Unfortunately, you might have to travel to the ends of the earth to see such a thing, which can be expensive. So, this article will bring the marvels of the world to you for free! You do not have to stress or worry because they are all here to easily see. Read below and try not to let your jaw hit the ground in amazement.

A Globe For The Blind

Adventure doesn’t just feed the mind, it feeds the soul. The opportunity to explore different countries, lands, and seas is truly magical. A globe lets you travel across different slopes, valleys and mountains without even leaving your house, and now, even those who have lost their sight can enjoy these adventures!

Blind people have had a difficult way of learning about geography, but innovative engineer, Samuel Gridley Howe, solved that problem in the 1830s. He embossed the maps so they could be felt with the fingertips. Now, blind people can travel through the Indian Ocean, the Arctic, the vast lands of Africa, and even the hills and mountains of Scotland with just a touch of their fingers. I am sure millions of people are thankful for this invention.
