Did they forget the word “be”?
The message is simple and straightforward. Well, perhaps more simple than clear. We think this person was probably low on ink in the printer because their message is missing a few things. Or maybe they were in a hurry when they wrote it because syntax and grammar were not their priorities.

Here, we have a severe case of missing punctuation marks, confusing verb tenses, and also an extra “c.” Written language can be a problem for some people. Fortunately, we can understand beyond these mistakes and figure out what they meant to tell us. Perhaps it would have been better to write: “If kids break something, parents have to pay.”
