If you’re anything like us, then technology is a huge part of your life, especially if you’ve made the transition to working from home since the pandemic, but there’s a good chance that no matter how good you feel you are at technology that you find yourself saying, “whoa, how did you do that?” when someone does something seemingly simple, yet way impressive on a device. Reopen a Closed Tab
We’ve all experienced that gut-wrenching moment when we’re not paying enough attention and we’re closing out of a bunch of things, then bam. It happens. The one tab we wanted to keep open has disappeared because we’ve accidentally closed out of it. Well, worry no more because there’s an easy way to retrieve that once lost tab; simply press Ctrl + Shift + T on your PC or Cmnd + Shift T on your Mac, and you’ve gotten back what was once lost.
Use a Post-It to Clean Your Keyboard
If you find yourself without compressed air to clean your keyboard with, you can always use the sticky side of a post-it note to get in those hard-to-reach places. And don’t for a second blame yourself for snacking near your keyboard, our keyboards are magnets for dirt and grime. (Okay, maybe that’s just a thing we say to make ourselves feel better.)
A Clean Cord is a Happy Cord
Okay, this may be us just being a little picky, but if you have a number of Apple products, then that means you probably have a lot of white cords laying around and these white cords are subject to a number of scuff marks and just plain icky-ness. But we have a great little office hack for those dingy-looking cords, wait for it, a pencil eraser! Seriously, just take an eraser to your white cords and they’ll be looking as good as new.
Get it Right the First Time
When you go to plug in a USB cable, does it take you 50 tries or are you superhuman? If you spend a few too many extra seconds trying to plug this cable in the right way, we can save you a few extra seconds and a whole lot of frustration! Find a USB cable and you’ll want to flip the actual USB part over a couple of times and on one side you’ll see a design. That design will point up if you’re plugging in horizontally, and it will face you if you’re plugging in vertically.
