Owl Fly
The owl fly is a fast-flying predator that can be identified by its large eyes and knobbed antennae. They are often mistaken for dragonflies because of their slender bodies and wings, but can be told apart by the difference in their antennas and the way they fold in their wings.

Adult owl flies can be found in tropical areas but are commonly found in southern and southwestern United States and some parts of Australia. These insects are nocturnal and come out to play at night when they are drawn to artificial lights.
