Bubble Fly
This little diva with a bubble in its mouth is called a bubble fly, and no, it is not chewing gum. They are called bubble flies because they blow up round bubbles of spit every few seconds; this is supposedly meant to cool the insect since it is mostly out in the sun. They do not fly while making the bubbles; this could be because they need to cool down after flying for long periods.

This process is done a few times, where they suck the bubble back in and regurgitate it after a few seconds. Other flies and some wasps have been known to do this, but this is quite fascinating. So, every time you chew gum, remember this tiny little insect possibly languishing on a leaf and creating bubbles at random.
