Black Fly
The black fly is a harbinger of death. The black fly’s bite causes a sickness known as the ‘black fly fever.’ In many developing countries, it may be fatal. The black fly feeds on animals and humans alike, sucking their blood. Guess what? These tiny little insects are usually found in dark shades or wetlands, so wearing dark clothing close to dark flies is similar to wearing red close to a bull.

These dark colors draw them in and make it very difficult to spot them as they easily blend in. Therefore, you’ll need to wear bright colored clothes to keep them away; if they land on you, you can spot them and kill them. They are also very active during the day, so if you live in areas with dark flies, cover up as much exposed skin as possible because these insects are as deadly as they are scary.
