Rove Beetle
Rove beetles are tiny insects, measuring about 7-8 mm in length. They are easily identified by their black head, orange-black thorax, a shiny black body that conceals its wings, and a red-orange abdomen with a tapered tail. Do not be fooled by this harmless-looking image; rove beetles are known to carry toxins. Contact with them may result in a severe skin reaction.

So, do not try to be as brave as Donald Jusa, it may come flying at you, which will cause you to swat at it, and the end may not be pretty. Do not fear, they do not bite or sting, but their blood contains a unique toxin called pederin, which has been known to cause eye and skin irritations. You shouldn’t swat at it, but you should admire its beauty in this closeup photo.
