U.S. Cavalry soldiers pose in front of a Giant Sequoia
In Yosemite National Park, in the U.S., a centuries-old tree still stands today. Sequoias are known to grow to spectacular heights and live for many years. This particular specimen is one of the largest and oldest, considering that this photograph dates back to 1900.
The tree was playfully nicknamed “The Grizzly Giant” and was famous even in the early 20th century. The photo shows a group of Cavalry soldiers posing in front of it. Even though they are mounted, they look like tiny ants compared to the massive tree.
