150 million-years-old dinosaur footprints were discovered in France
Millions of years ago, the Earth was populated by giant dinosaurs. Fossils of these creatures have been found all over the world. At their largest, they were estimated to have been about 85 feet long and weighed around 65 tons. Evidence for the biggest specimens has mostly been found in the Argentine Patagonia.
However, in 2009, the world’s largest sauropod trackway was discovered in France, near the village of Plagne in the Jura Mountains. Further excavations uncovered even more tracks, which ended up spanning over 150 meters. Experts estimate the footprints are 150 million years old.
