A young Marilyn Monroe photographed by Ear Leaf
Marilyn Monroe rose to fame in the 1950s and became one of the biggest Hollywood stars in history. She embodied the stereotypical Blonde Bombshell, although her talent as an actress far exceeded the box she had been cast in. This picture was taken by Ear Leaf in 1950 before she became the icon she is today.
She had already starred in two very successful films: The Asphalt Jungle and All About Eve, but her roles had been minor. She was not the sex symbol she became in later years, nor had she suffered the many personal tragedies that led to her early demise.
