A ‘Unique’ Greek fashion statement: The Unibrow
When asked to think of beautiful things associated with Greece, we usually think of masculine Greek God-like physique, beautiful sculptures or artifacts, fantastic architecture, and olives! Definitely the olives! But what nobody would guess is a unibrow. That’s right! A dark, bushy, and black unibrow was considered alluring. The heat of this trend was so widespread that women would actually ‘draw’ their unibrows out of black substances like kohl (a black powder) to appear more Caliente.
The reason unibrows were so popular and a fashion symbol is still unknown, but it is believed that Ancient Greeks considered them a sign of purity and intelligence. Trust us when we say we were just as amazed as you when discovering that the unibrow symbolized beauty back in time!
