You won’t believe what this ‘no-fun’ face wash is made from
“Somebody’s waste is somebody’s treasure.” No, quite literally! Widely common, the Uguisu-no-fun is the practice of using nightingale droppings to cleanse the face. Promising to make your skin lighter and fairer, this practice is rooted in the Geisha traditions, therefore also called ‘The Geisha Facial.’ A special breed of nightingale called The Japanese bush warbler’s (Uguisu) droppings is dried out and then made into face washes known to make the skin lighter.
This practice is widespread amongst Japanese geishas, and now even western cultures are looking forward to adopting this practice. Even mainstream celebrities like Victoria Beckham swear by this ‘no fun’ cleanser. Would you soak your face in bird poo for lighter skin? A small price to pay for beauty, maybe?
