The disappearance of Elle Austin
The Bermuda Triangle is infamous for missing ships, and one notable disappearance was the American white oak schooner Ellen Austin. The Ellen Austin was a 210 feet long ship going to New York from London when she stumbled upon the Bermuda Triangle.
The ship drifted along the north of the Sargassonsea with no crew member aboard. Many had set plans to catch the ship and sail it, but the efforts were unsuccessful as the ship aimlessly wandered about, appearing and disappearing at will. This disappearance, reappearance, and the prize crew’s absence is an intriguing story.
