Only a small percent of ships sink, despite many reported cases
The United States Coast Guard records show that the number of supposed disappearances is relatively insignificant considering the number of ships and aircraft that pass through regularly. This means only a tiny fraction of ships sink compared to the thousands that sail through daily.
The Coast Guard also tried hard to counter the skepticism of the stories being published as they collected, published, inquired, and documented information to contradict many of the incidents written about by the Triangle authors.
