Stop signs have always been red, as far as we know. As most everyone knows, stop signs instruct drivers to stop and wait. As with red lights, red is a color associated with making people stop and take notice or something that sets a limit.

But this blue stop sign is something we’ve never seen. It’s confusing; people don’t know whether to keep going or to stop. It’s hard to know what the intentions of this sign are. Maybe it’s a simple joke. Actually, Hawaii has a policy that signs cannot be red if they are on private property.
