Perry is a fermented pear drink we wish we could try
Even back then, pears were produced in North America, so they took part as a fundamental ingredient in colonial cuisine. While it is originally from England and France, Perry is a fermented beverage that became a colonial classic in the eighteenth century. This drink is like cider but made from pears.
Perry is not made from normal pears. Perry pears are smaller and harder than the ones we consume. This means that this beverage probably does not taste as you would expect. We do not know the reason why apple cider became more popular over the centuries, because perry sounds quite delicious.
