Swans made it into colonial stews too
As you have probably noticed by now, there were no animals the colonials did not eat. As we have seen, as long as the animal has some meat attached to its bones, people found ways to add it to a dish. A great example is this recipe for swan stew.
You can start by placing the swan meat cut into pieces in a pot over medium-high heat. Then, add your veggies, herbs, and spices. Onions, carrots, rosemary, and bay leaves are a few options. Once everything is slightly golden, add water and leave it to cook for around 4 hours to have a delicious swan stew.
